Advanced Image Management, Ltd., Regina, SK

In early 1995 (old school) I started a web design/multimedia company with three partners. There were less than 10,000 sites online (most of them academic) and maybe a few hundred companies making them for commercial clients.

When the first graphical browser came out we posted a massive library of free graphics online - can you say buttons, bars and backgrounds. The phone started ringing off the hook. Our first year was focused on delivering number of first-generation sites for provincial and municipal government departments, agencies, and institutions. In our second year we shifted our sales efforts towards corporate and entertainment industry clients.

It was a lot harder to get things looking good back then with only 256 colors, no tables (and no div tags either), and max screen resolutions of 640x480. None of us had really made web sites either. I don't think any of these sites exist any longer but its still fun to look at them in their native Netscape 2 browser window!
